The Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi,
inaugurated Smritivan, a memorial park and an
explorative museum, on August 28, 2022.
Smritivan is a massive 170-acre memorial and explorative museum on Bhujia Hill, honoring the victims and the incredible resilience of Gujarat following the 2001 earthquake. A world-class monument needs a world-class digital footprint. The goal was to build a mobile website that bypassed the friction of an app store download but still delivered the seamless, intuitive feel of a native mobile app.
Visitors exploring Kutch or planning a trip on the fly don't want to navigate a clunky, traditional web page. They need immediate access to practical info—ticket bookings, 360-degree simulation details, and opening hours—alongside heavy, emotionally resonant multimedia content. The challenge was packing all of this into a lightweight, mobile-first interface without sacrificing speed, storytelling, or usability.
We used native app UI patterns to make the mobile site feel incredibly smooth:
Thumb-Friendly Nav: Fixed menus keep bookings and timings just a quick tap away.
Smooth Ticketing: A fast, app-style checkout flow to stop drop-offs.
Swipeable Cards: Horizontal carousels for reviews and promos to ditch the endless scrolling.
Seamless Media: Embedded audio/video and a live IG feed built right into the UI.
